Did Jose Baez Have Any Intention of Cooperating with the Prosecution?

3 Mar

On February 20, 2011, Mr. Baez sent an e-mail to the prosecution detailing his intent in regards to cooperation.  His e-mail may be read at the following link as part of a motion Mr. Baez later filed.

“Mr. Ashton:
I have attached a Notice of objection to assist you.  Should you have any further questions please email them to me and we will do our best to answer them.  It is my intent to attempt to work with you as best as possible, so that all hearings can proceed smoothly and be decided on the law and not on any posturing done by either side.
Jose A. Baez”

“I have attached a Notice of objection to assist you” – Mr. Baez implies the defense has complied with the order of the court in regards to the submittal of possible Frye issues and any further complaints Mr. Ashton may have should be settled by the prosecution filing a Notice of Objection.

“to assist you” – Mr. Ashton began this exchange with a phone call inquiring if the defense planned to comply with the court’s order, in effect assisting Mr. Baez.  It seems Mr. Baez is unappreciative of any assistance from the State as he implies the State needs his assistance.

“Should you have any further questions please email them to me” – Mr. Baez is obsessed with his belief the State is required to contact him through various electronic methods, such as telephones or e-mail.  Mr. Baez consistently makes reference in written motions and verbal statements to his belief the State must contact him regarding various filings and points of law, as well as law enforcement procedures.

“and we will do our best to answer them” – Mr. Baez switches from speaking for himself, “I” and “me”, to speaking for a group, “we”.  Who is “we”?  Mr. Baez and Mr. Mason?  Mr. Baez and his office staff?  Mr. Baez and Ms. Anthony?  We do not know, but we do know by switching to “we”, Mr. Baez is distancing himself from this statement, increasing doubt as to his doing his “best to answer”.

“It is my intent to attempt to work with you as best as possible” – Mr. Baez switches back to speaking for himself, “my”.  Mr. Baez has an “intent”.  Is the “intent” to work with Mr. Ashton?  No.  The “intent” is “to attempt”.  Mr. Baez plans “to attempt”, but not to succeed.  Mr. Baez is stating he will not be working with Mr. Ashton.  The phrase “as best as possible” limits the phrase “to work”.  Why is it not “possible” to for Mr. Baez “to work with” Mr. Ashton?

“so that all hearings can proceed smoothly” – Why is Mr. Baez concerned with “hearings” proceeding “smoothly”?  Mr. Baez is indicating he believes “hearings” have not proceeded “smoothly” and this has something to do with the prosecution.

“and be decided on the law” – Mr. Baez implies previous “hearings” may not have been “decided on the law”, but on something else.  Mr. Baez is stating Judge Perry may have allowed courtroom actions determine his legal decisions.  Would Judge Perry agree?

“and not on any posturing done by either side” – Mr. Baez believes there is “posturing” being “done” in the courtroom.  Mr. Baez admits with “by either side” the defense is “posturing” at times.  Mr. Baez believes “posturing” is capable of affecting the legal rulings of the court.

We have learned Mr. Baez thinks the judiciary of Orange County makes legal decisions based upon the actions of the attorneys observed by the judge in the courtroom.

We have learned Mr. Baez does not believe past hearings have been smooth, indicating he believes they have been rough.

We have learned the intent of Mr. Baez was never to work with the prosecution, only to attempt to do so.

We have learned Mr. Baez, whether it be in official court motions or casual e-mail correspondence, does not believe grammar, punctuation, or internally consistent capitalization to be of importance.

Bull……I missed you! So glad you are back. I am so proud of Lee Anthony today!!! I’m in a good mood:) 🙂 🙂

Baez had NO intention on helping LE, only helping Casey get off. What is the defense?? I want to know. Mason looks ashamed just to be there. LOL!

HA-HA!!! I just read the part where Baez was trying to get John Allen to “admit” he was badmouthing Baez to the Anthonys (part of LE’s plot to make them AGENTS OF THE STATE) and Allen told him it was the exact opposite– the Anthonys’ were whining to LE about Baez.

Boy….I can smell Baez from here. SMELLY RAT! SHAME ON YOU BLAMING LAW ENFORCEMENT!

Baez is the perfect Anthony foil in that he reflects all of their thought processes and ultimate goals

Baez is proving himself to be just as narcissistic, “above the law” and “untouchable” as his client Casey. It’s going to be extraordinarily satisfying to watch both them come crashing anbd burning down!!!!

    • Venice March 3, 2011 at 7:18 pm #

Did you see when Casey shunned Lee? Priceless. She disowns anyone who wont LIE for her. Good Job Lee!!

    I just want to add….

Judge Perry KNOWS a Black Widow when he sees one, and he knows he has one with Casey. Classic Sociopath. 😉

Another rousing day in court. Baez asking GA if not showing up to court would help his daughter and GA says, yes. Is this a prelude to what might be coming? Shackle him now and make sure he is Baker Acted so he can testify at trial. Lee was the biggest surprise of the day. If he can’t be a PI at least he can be honest.
I have not seen LDB crack a joke to a witness yet Baez, the defense for a murder trial, cracks jokes with every other person on the stand……

    • Venice March 3, 2011 at 10:27 pm #

I have to say that LDB is one professional attorney!! Excellent! Also, Mason does not look well. We all know he REGRETS getting involved. It’s your ship Captain Baez, so safe sailing. LOL!!!

      • myra manes March 4, 2011 at 2:20 am #

I agree Venice, LDB is fantastic .. 😀
She cuts right through the bullshit ..

      • Venice March 4, 2011 at 1:40 pm #

LDB covered all her bases with the shady defense! LOL! They cannot pull their sleazy tactics during trial.

Maybe GeorgeMarie downed a six pack and a few aspirins tonight ..

      If he didn’t – he should ..

Based upon Cindy and George’s responses, how do you think their lawyer cautioned or advised them to act?

Did their lawyer tell them to act hostile or disagreeable? Why?

Are they acting on their own?

    • myra manes March 4, 2011 at 2:18 am #

Offthecuff, I believe they are acting on their own ..

The courtroom attitude displayed by both GeorgeMarie and Cindy was embarrassing, as usual ..
No wonder Casey snubbed them ..
      They’re idiots ..

Why oh why was Baez bringing up all of Casey’s lies? Darn he’s a great witness for the State. GEESH! And all day was about him (Baez) instead of his client. What’s up with that? He already knows no one likes him.

    • Venice March 4, 2011 at 9:40 am #

Wasn’t it great when Judge Perry stated he reads FICTION novels and doesn’t engage in speculation. LOVED IT!

    • kas March 4, 2011 at 12:01 pm #

I know!! The Police were called to the Anthonys’ because of Cindy’s 911 and then her charges of Casey stealing. There was a Missing Child. This is not in dispute. Baez BARELY stopped short of saying, “how could you NOT see my client had killed her kid?!!”

Myra: Cindy has modified her behavior a bit since the last time they were both really center stage– the Z. Gonzalez Civil Suit. George is still going the “righteous indignation” route and he just comes off like an ass.

      • Venice March 4, 2011 at 1:20 pm #

We should all be so happy 🙂

Cindy NO LONGER controls the court!!!
and George is an excellent hostile witness for the jury!! Have a GREAT day 🙂

We need to ask themission if they want their feathers baked or fried.

    • Zoe March 4, 2011 at 2:25 pm #

HA! How about a big ‘ol plate piled high with Cajun-style crow??

IMO, Casey looks “harder” and colder than ever. Anger and hatred just seep out from her pores. Some of her “looks” directed at witnesses on the stand were bone-chiling. I get such a horrible feeling of disgust/anger when I see her.

  10. Venice March 5, 2011 at 3:03 pm #

Look at George here in 2008….LOVING the attention, the media, and giggling like a little girl when showing the new Caylee t-shirts. He also very jovialy asked for donations for their foundation. HE WAS SO HAPPY!

    • 38special March 5, 2011 at 7:50 pm #

That vid is an eye opener. If you didn’t know it was about a missing kid, you’d think it was about some community event.
He is in his play-nice mode, giving explicit directions on how to get the decomp smell …take the pizza boxes and an Arm & Hammer container in an 18″ bag, put it in the trunk, closed tight and after 15 days..decomp smell!! okie dokie george marie.
Saving the best for last…a real first for the missing kid families..donations, donations, donations, yep..they got the entire community helping them but the CMA trust funds needs your dollars. Unfreakinbelievable, even after seeing them nonstop for 2.5 yrs, it still surprises me what greedy subhumans they are.

Venice, Good timing on providing this link, again. It is less than 30 days from when they called LE. GA is no longer looking into the camera and asking Zenaida to bring Caylee home. He instead is asking for donations and probably didn’t have a clue as to when the pictures of KC were taken. I did not hear him once claim LE was pestering him to be an “agent for the state.” These news videos will come back to haunt that family at trial….KC’s And theirs afterwards……

      • Venice March 5, 2011 at 8:08 pm #

Damn straight damagdpets!!! I hope all their little “cameos” surface at trial!

    • shyloh March 6, 2011 at 9:33 am #

Good Lord I didn’t need to be reminded of this. UGH! He is ONE of the reason’s I am not married today. Bwaaaaa!

    • kas March 6, 2011 at 12:27 pm #

You know, as much as it pains me to “see” anything from Casey’s point of view, I can understand why she seems to have such distain for George. He is so shameless. His whole ‘Scarlett O’Hara (I don’t care if I have to lie……) act in the Courtroom just comes off as so–FALSE. She knows what he was actually doing(nothing), she has to know they’ve been accused of misusing Foundation Funds. The dynamics in this family are mind-bogling. It’s like Cindy is the husband and George is the weepy wife.

  11. shyloh March 6, 2011 at 9:38 am #

By the way. If Arm & Hammer needs a new AD out. They need to be sent this video on how not to sell their products… I don’t want my clothes to smell like death.

It was so funny when Baez was asking Sgt. Hosee where he was on June 15, 2008. LOL!!

Gee, Baez, why don’t you also ask him where he was on June 15, 1979. Good Lord. LOL!

I feel so badly for Miss Anthony and her entire family. I do feel badly for little Caylee, but that loving family would never harm her. It was not an accident that she died—she was murdered—but her mommy did not do it. You can tell by the confidence she shows in the courtroom that Casey is innocent of any wrongdoing. Yes perhaps she told a lie to the police, but she was in fear for her daughter’s life—just like Cindy said on tv. The people that had Caylee had been her babysitter(s) so Casey could enjoy life a little. Girls need to have a boyfriend and go out on the town, but Cindy wouldn’t allow Casey to do that, so it forced her to lie about it. We’ve all told lies, and I doubt anyone posting here is completely free from telling a lie at some point in their life.

The nanny was a psycho and she was jealous of Casey. Casey’s beautiful smile, her perfect body, her charming and outgoing personality were things that made the nanny jealous. The nanny probably was jealous that Casey was dating Jeff (nanny’s old boyfriend) and maybe she wanted him back. By kidnapping Caylee and murdering her to look like Casey did it, nanny now has Jeff back. Where are Jeff and Nanny? Well they are obviously hiding from the police!

I guess that post confirms that there is a syndrome called IPT~ Insane Perverted Troll, that being said, maybe Lee and Mallyboo won’t have the only wedding bells on the horizon. Methinks the poster is crushing on princess enough to pop the question.
