What makes a good lie? Defense attorney Jose Baez seems to agree with his client more details make for better lies. But just how important are details?
In his opening statement in the defense of Casey Anthony against charges of first-degree murder, Mr. Baez offered a new explanation for Ms. Anthony neglecting to report her daughter missing for 31 days. Mr. Baez stated there was no need to report little Caylee missing as she was never missing, but dead after drowning in the Anthony pool. Jose Baez: “On June 16, 2008, Casey was home with Caylee and so was her father. Early morning hours, the exact time is not known, it could have been early afternoon… early morning… actually, it was the early morning hours. George Anthony approached Casey and started yelling at her, “Where’s Caylee? Where’s Caylee?”.
“the exact time is not known” – Mr. Baez would have the jury and public believe the story he now tells came from his client. But if this series of events originated with his client, either truth or lie, wouldn’t she have included a specific time? Ms. Anthony is nothing if not detail-oriented in her verbal epics. Would she have left out the critical time of the event? Perhaps an even more important question is, did Mr. Baez even practice his opening statement one time? Wouldn’t he have noticed this little detail problem the first time through?
“yelling” – Why are the queries of George Anthony, the responsible adult in the situation, the only one who notices the young child is missing, characterized as yelling? Are voices raised in alarm at imagined dangers of all sorts to an unwitting toddler really not to be expected in such a situation? Mr. Baez attempts to present his client as victim even when by his own telling of the event the true victim is Caylee Anthony, unwatched and struggling for breath in the family pool while her mother attends to hurt feelings over harsh tones.
We have learned Mr. Baez does not know when Caylee Anthony died. Either his client did not tell him or his story is not valid.
We have learned when someone makes up a story as he speaks in which the details fall apart before he finishes, the events the speaker chronicles must be held in doubt by the listeners.
We have learned Mr. Baez believes drowning children are not suitable subjects for raised voices or alarm.

Well, Casey did tell Baez the time-between 9am and 1pm. Baez must have forgotten about that little detail. Baez wanted the jury to think George has a temper even with the missing status of Caylee. He wants the jury to believe that its not a yelling one would do in a panic over a lost child but in anger at his irresponsible daughter. And, we can see that Casey must be the victim though Caylee has just drowned and lost her life.
If Caylee had drowned, why would kc place her favorite baby doll in the CARSEAT? Kc kept the backpac in her car and the doll, if she had drowned there would have been no need to take the items from the house and place them in her car.Those items being in the car back up george’s statements. I would like the prosecution to address this fact.The defense has really over the top lied.

Casey has not been always been meticulous in details about time. Remember, she tells LE she left for work on June 16,2008 between 9am and 1 pm, quite an expanse of time. But I do think, if I were a juror, I would wonder about maybe early morning, maybe afternoon for this scenario just as I would wonder why she did not know more specifically what time she left for work in the first scenario.
the jury wont have to wonder about these time frame mishaps because they alredy know she wasnt working and lied about everything. they wil just have to wonder why she lied in the first plce and why she is lying now and trying to pin this on anyone but her.

Maybe it’s importance is only when George is on the stand.
Wouldn’t Cindy deserve her own calendar? Or, Baez could use the same calendar, but color-code what Cindy writes in different ink.
I think it’s very useful. It gives the witness a chance to stretch and walk around the courtroom to the easel. That way everyone can approve of their dressage, and determine if they look pregnant.
Also, by referencing the calendar, we can see when June 16 is, right there next to June 15.

Nope, Baez does not know how Caylee died. I don’t think he believes his BS opening statement any more than we do, but I do not think he knows the truth.
I do not know if anyone else caught this but in Baez opening statement he made a comment that was meant to inflame but it also could not be qualify because the way he said it,
He made the comment that Casey could go to school after a penis was in her mouth, He made the statement “could go to school afterward” he did not say did go to school this way. I hope the jury picks up on that statement and I think this statement alone weakens the abuse claim.
I hope so, too. Baez is a master of semantics-he uses it in a way that is just enough to keep him out of trouble with the Bar yet can make suggestions to the jury.
wow didnt catch that little fopa on boso opening about casey could have gone to school after having her fathers penis in her mouth. hope the jury didnt miss it. and why if caylee died in an accident in the pool does he feel she had no obligation to report this to anyone? why does he feel she should not be doing jail time or a jury should aquit her of all charges just because the child supposedly died in an accident? she was asked many times if she wanted to change her story,if there was anything she wasnt telling law enforcement. if anything bad happened to calee and she just thought people would look bad at her for it. she right out said no! i for one hd sexual abuse happen to me in the past, i have 5 children but you can bet they are all alive and well. my life has not always been peaches and cream, nor my kids. but i now have 6 grandkids and would be devistated if anything happened to the kids or grandkids. casey is heartless,a grand liar, and needs to own up to her mistakes(and i saay this loosely) because killing or causing harm to a child really isnt a mistake. its a tragity. sorry for the book!
Maybe Casey is using between 9 and 1 for time of disappearance/death because the actually times are true. I know George said when he saw them last, but George has been shown to be a liar. I also realize there is speculation about the 9 and the 1 in the addresses of the lots next to where Caylee was left (the Zenaida family and the F. Gonzalez family according to the mailboxes), and also has been compared to Tony Lazzaro’s school schedule which was also 9-1. Even so, is it possible that Casey put Caylee somewhere at 9, and when she came back to check on her at 1 she was dead? A hot car during the daytime 9-1 could do it, and so could chloroform in a trunk from 9pm to 1am.
I don’t think Baez got this info. from Casey but rather cobbled it together from the discovery.

I noticed that blunder too,but I doubt if the jurors did … unfortunately.You explained the significance of Baez’s lapse so beautifully;I was really impressed.Great job ! too bad you aren’t a little bird whispering in their collective ears If you were, we could all rest assured that justice for Caylee will be served;As it is, I’m worried Casey will be convicted of a lesser charge.
I don’t believe in the deah penalty even for a sociapath for Ms. Anthony,but I will be extremely outraged if she doesn’t spend the rest of her miserable life in prison.

Not only did Cindy Anthony torpedo the prosecutions case but, she may have alluded to the possible existence of Skynet!
The Anthony computer is apparently autonomous! It conducted the computer searches on it’s own!! OMG! It’s framing Casey!
Maybe, just maybe, the Casey Anthony we see in the courtroom everyday isn’t the real Casey Anthony. Maybe the real Casey Anthony was replaced by a polymimetic cybernetic organism sent here from the future. This would explain Casey’s (or T-1000 series?) partying ….. that’s what T-1000s thought humans do when in mourning. It also explains “Casey’s” constant interwebz presence. She (it?) was receiving orders from Skynet. And that would explain “Casey’s” limited range of mimicry when it comes to appropriate human conduct and emotions.
Skynet is responsible for this whole mess!
