Will Everyone Understand After Jose Baez Finally Speaks?

10 Feb

On the very day Casey Anthony was indicted by a grand jury for the murder of her two-year old daughter, her defense attorney, Jose Baez, spoke to the press.  The remarks of Mr. Baez on October 14, 2008, may be found at the following link.

http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/27184822/ns/today-today_people

Jose Baez:  “I sincerely believe that when we have finally spoken, everyone, and I mean everyone, will sit back and say, ‘Now, I understand. That explains it.'”

Mr. Baez makes a statement about understanding, but makes no comment about the innocence of his client.

“I sincerely believe” – Mr. Baez must emphasize the sincerity of his belief by including the extra word “sincerely”.  This brings into question the level of his sincerity as without the extra word, the assumption would have been Mr. Baez believes what he claims to believe.  Now, the listener must question if Mr. Baez believes his own claimed belief.

“that when we have finally spoken” – The word “that” distances Mr. Baez from finally speaking.  “We” distances him further.  The final speaking will not be his alone, but the product of a group, a “we”.  Who is “we”?  This statement was made before Mr. Baez assembled his dream team of defense, so who is he referring to as “we”?  Himself and his client?  The word “finally” indicates there will be speaking by “we” prior to a final statement.

“everyone, and I mean everyone,” – Mr. Baez feels he must clarify who he refers to by “everyone”.  Since his definition is “everyone”, the listener must continue to question the reference as without the clarification, the assumption would have been “everyone” means exactly what it says.  Mr. Baez is indicating he sometimes utilizes the word “everyone” when he truly means a smaller group.

“will sit back” – The words “sit back” indicate and increased tension.  Mr. Baez is extra sensitive about this portion of his statement.  His next words cause him anxiety.

“and say, ‘Now, I understand. That explains it.'” – This is the portion of the statement creating the most stress for Mr. Baez.  This is the portion of the statement Mr. Baez “sincerely believes”.  This is the reaction Mr. Baez claims to expect once he and whoever else to whom he refers “finally” speaks.  Mr. Baez is aware how ridiculous and unbelievable this statement is as he makes it, leading to a flurry of verbal distancing and sensitivity markers.

We have learned Mr. Baez sees a difference between believing and “sincerely” believing.

We have learned Mr. Baez does not believe he alone will be able to deliver a final speech which will cause anyone to understand the actions of Casey Anthony.

We have learned Mr. Baez planned far back in October of 2008 to make many public statements which would not explain any of Ms. Anthony’s actions by his statement no one would understand his media blitz until his final defense statement, which he claims to believe will cause “everyone” to “understand”, but which he does not claim will clear Ms. Anthony or make any of her actions excusable, either legally or morally.

Whoa….Baez thinks he’s the Big Bad Godzilla. Make room Orlando.

After he speaks?? If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck….it’s a duck 😉

What I think will resonate with jurors will be Ms Anthony’s silence. I don’t believe anyone ever asked Ms Anthony if she killed her daughter but silence has a way of exposing a psychopath on life support.

Does anyone really care “what he sincerely believes”? He should be concentrating on what jurors “will sincerely believe”.

I agree, Venice. She is no more suicidal than I am. It is simply another way to sell that rag

I think the only Jose “sincerely” believed was he could use this case as a path to fame and fortune. I don’t think infamous was what he was going for lol.
    Great article, Bull

i understand she murdered her child, and that Jose Bias is lying, and averting the truth as he tries to mix up the whole thing. he does this so that he can create reasonalble doubt. he is a babbling fool to defense such a monster.

I sincerely wish Mr.Baez’s is right by saying, when “They” finally have spoken(who btw. is they?)Every One will sit back and say, Now, I understand! That explains it!
Well, sorry to say I won’t hold my Breath. Why in the World would Baez let his Client sit in Jail for over two Years if he could have went for a speedy Trial and explain in All way back then to avoid all the Delays in this Case.
It shows me he is full of hot Air, nothing more.
We will see when the Trial starts if he can back up his Statement and make us understand.
I will keep an open Mind but I do have to admit the Case and the Evidence against Mr. Baez’s Client looks good for the Prosecution but not for Casey Anthony! JMO

Oh, I don’t know. I think it’s true that everyone will understand .

that Casey is a sociopath who murdered her daughter because Casey was bored with the chores of motherhood, angry at Cindy and wanting a carefree party lifestyle.

      BRAVO!!!

    • shyloh February 10, 2011 at 5:17 pm #

That we will understand Katprint. She hated her mother more than she loved Caylee. She is after all “a spiteful bitch.” Her words not mine.

      • Venice February 10, 2011 at 5:24 pm #

or “maybe this should have happened a long time ago”. LOL!!! What should have happened Casey?? Caylee get kidnapped??? LOL!!!

Maybe Baez was using the royal “We,” as the Queen of England does. He seems to think he is far above us mere peons. Idiot.

Damagdpets, if you post back on the JB site could you ask this poster why? if someone HAD been involved early on, would they keep a toddler that was the focus of a nationwide search, and anyone turning her in would have been eligible for 250,000.00$
I am barred from posting on that “fair and unbiased” website and don’t understand why asking questions like this isn’t allowed…

“I agree with you. This is just something that nags at me. I do feel that there is a “Zenaida” or someone who acted as a nanny of sorts. People go under the radar all the time. I don’t have enough information to come up with a theory that I’d comment on, but I do know that it’s not that difficult to disappear and not be found. And why, given what happened to Caylee, would this person come forward? Like you, I’m willing to admit that I could be wrong….but my gut tells me I’m not.”

      Cecelia,

They are all illogical, so I’m afraid your question would not be honored with integrity.

  9. Linda February 11, 2011 at 2:00 am #

Cecelia….I agree that there is a Zenaida and the cops and the FBI already found her. Her a$$ is sitting in the county jail. Her real name is Casey Anthony……Shout out to Venice…If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, Its a Lawyer……LOL

Sure we will all understand, once this literal “garbage” evidence is tossed out :D! The duhfense has lost their one remaining, collective brain cell:

Bull-A good article to follow up on Dr Glass’s article about whether or not Casey will commmit suicide:

    http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/ask/2008/11/questions-for-seabrook.html

This is the discussion that followed the initial article published by TNY called “Suffering Souls”. A terrific article. (a review of the early literature on Psychopathy as well as early terminology to describe the antisocial personality).

Cecelia, I just now saw your comment. The common sense answer to your question is why would a kidnapper turn them self in for a reward? Most of us know that doesn’t happen but why not someone close to the kidnapper to collect that kind of change? The 250K was not offered for a long time and there is no honor among thieves. The only explanation I can come up with is there was no Zanny and if there was/is, she is sitting in jail awaiting trial. I ask questions at the other site all the time but are not always accepted well.

Lesa – They don’t believe a crime took place some days and then on others they say, “we just don’t know what the crime is”.
